The Value of Time Use Data in Informing Macroeconomic and Sectoral Policies: A Policy Dialogue for Kenya and the Sub-Saharan Africa Region

📍 October 21–22, 2025 | Emara Ole-Sereni Hotel, Nairobi, Kenya

💡 Data for better decision-making.
As public policies increasingly face complex and multidimensional challenges, Time Use (TU) data provides policymakers with a powerful lens to design more equitable, effective, and inclusive solutions.

👥 Co-organized by the Kenya State Department of Economic Planning, the Kenya National Bureau of StatisticsData2X, and Open Data Watch, this roundtable targets policymakers, senior officials, and representatives from key ministries , including finance, labor, agriculture, gender, and local governments. The goal: to strengthen their capacity to integrate TU data into the formulation, monitoring, and evaluation of macroeconomic and sectoral policies.

🗣️ Through practical exchanges, national case studies, and targeted working sessions, participants will examine how TU data can inform care policies, labor market strategies, poverty reduction efforts, and the recognition of unpaid work.

🌍 The CREG, with its recognized expertise in producing and analyzing TU data, will serve as a strategic partner in promoting a regionally integrated approach grounded in evidence-based policymaking.
